Stress Check
/It’s time to check in with ourselves and see how we’ve really been feeling over the past couple of weeks. There has been a lot of change happening, a lot of sadness, a lot of frustration. And I say this because there was an influx in social media usage and expression of sadness and hurt relative to Nipsey Hussle‘s murder. It’s important for us to check in with ourselves and see exactly how we are feeling in doing because stress can be reflected in a number of ways. If you’ve noticed a decrease In your participation in things that you previously enjoyed or disruption in your routine, it’s time to check your stress. If you’ve noticed an increase in irritability, sleep, low frustration tolerance, sadness or even just not feeling like yourself—it’s time to check your stress.
For me, I have been off. I have been Irritable, short tempered, sad, tired and probably a whole bunch of other things. The thing about it is I’m aware, but I know that other people may not have that skill. So I’m here to tell you to check in with yourself. Ask yourself “how am I feeling?” It’s so easy to get caught up in your day-to-day that you don’t even realize what is going on with yourself. Even something like low productivity can be a noticeable change and an indicator of high stress levels. Although I am clinically trained to teach and tell you these things, I am saying this from my own experience. So do a check in with yourself and check in with others if you notice something different.
